Claire and Paul have a modern love story. They met over the internet, and after a short Sunday chat, they went the following week for a date. The rest is history – they both agree on that! The couple got engaged on Christmas day. Paul decided to surprise Clair, so she was absolutely shocked when he went down on one knee.
Planning their wedding started with Pinterest boards, scrapbooks, and magazines. They started looking for the venues first, thinking about something that is not traditional, stuffy or too formal. In the end, they decided for a windmill, that offers a lot more than usual. It offers a lot of decoration possibilities, as well as accommodation for bridesmaids and the couple – such as hot tub after a long way of decorating and arranging the venue. At the back of the mill is a wooden pagoda near a small pond. That is where the outdoor ceremony took place. They use hay bales as seating chairs.
Claire has a very specific way of asking her friends to be her bridesmaids. She packed push pop sweet rings into boxes and pooped a question for them. She decided to buy bridesmaid dresses online. Deep purple dresses from JJ’s House arrived in time. After a few problems, dresses were made and ready for the big day.
After Claire found out she was pregnant in February, shopping for a wedding dress was postponed. When it comes to the gown, Claire knew what she wants to choose – a lot of lace and sparkles and covered arms. She ended up with a beautiful A-line ball gown with sweetheart neckline, sleeveless, with a reasonable amount of sparkles and lace.
The wedding included a lot of games – Jenga, dominos, traditional board games, snakes and ladders, etc. Even the beer pong table was set. People were enjoying it! Although they didn’t opt for a Photobooth, they still set a selfie station. Guest choose between a lot of props to take a photo with.
The theme of their wedding was a mix of rustic, romantic, and purple/pinkish-themed. Decoration played a huge part of their ceremony. The main idea was rounded by afternoon tea theme. After spending a summer gathering teapots and vintage books, and photo frames from all around the world the decoration details finally got ready for tables. They used specific names for every table – the Fruit Cakes, The Bakewell Tarts, The fondant Fancies, etc.
This was a rustic and afternoon tea inspired party that anyone will forget. Games, decorations, and the ceremony – everything was beautiful and very emotional.
